A poster presented at the RCPCH Conference focussing on the qualitative work package associated with the DETECT study (NIHR i4i funded).

Research question: What are the experiences and perceptions of health professional about the acceptability and clinical utility of the DETECT e-PEWS app and what factors influence this?

Design: A qualitative study using telephone interviews with health professionals with experience of using DETECT e-PEWS to record or respond to vital signs

Findings: Three major themes reflect how health professionals engaged with the e-PEWS.

1) Complying

2) Circumventing

3) Disregarding

Acceptability was examined using the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability (Sekhon et al., 2018)
