Lyvonne Tume is Professor of Critical Care Nursing at Edge Hill University. She holds an honorary clinical and research contract in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. She is the co-editor of Nursing in Critical Care and on the editorial board for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. She is an intensive care nurse (adult and children) with over 30 years’ experience both in Australia and in the UK (dual British and Australian citizenship) and continues to maintain some clinical practice. She has over 130 peer-reviewed publications and has held several NIHR research grants, including chief investigator for a multicentre trial, one of the few nurses to have led a trial of this size and one of only two in intensive care. She is a member of the NIHR HTA funding panel.
