The Chamber Challenge
This session will discuss an innovative approach to developing Level 4 Health and Social Care students as Health Entrepreneurs. It will consider the students journey from their starting point at the beginning of the module, through to assessment. During this time students create a health promotion intervention tool at a symposium. Discussion will then take place on how this leads to the students being afforded the opportunity to pitch their ideas in a Chamber Challenge to a panel of external employers who become Dragons, in an approach similar to Dragon’s Den. The winning students receive a portion of the Dragons loot to support them in developing their intervention in the wider community. A previous winner will share their journey and discuss the success of their intervention and its impact. Moreover, the student will share their personal journey and how this particular opportunity increased their confidence and empowered to succeed. Examples of interventions will be shared and celebrated.
