Presentation Introduction

This presentation was initially presented to healthcare educators as part of the Reciprocal Scholar Visiting Programme (RSVP) in Nursing & Midwifery, organised by the University of Salford, the University of Central Lancashire, and BPP University, and it outlines key academic and reflective models designed to support the professional development of students in higher education, particularly within the BSc Nursing and MSc Healthcare Leadership programmes. The primary aim is to explore how these models by Schon, Cowan and Moon can be utilised not only to enhance students' academic journeys and foster the development of essential soft skills but also to serve as a tool for lecturers and academic staff to improve their own teaching practices. By integrating reflective practice into both student and staff development, this presentation demonstrates how reflection can lead to continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and leadership within the context of healthcare education. It emphasises how reflection contributes to both student progression and the professional growth of educators, ensuring a holistic approach to academic and career development in healthcare education.

10.25416/NTR.27931809
