An assessment rubric is a series of descriptors, carefully designed by educators, that facilitate the analysis and marking of student work. Rubrics embody interesting questions about how they are constructed, to what extent they are valid and reliable, and whether they cast like on what students will encounter as ‘troublesome concepts’.
Curating assessment rubrics that have been tested with engineering student cohorts, this sub-group aims to highlight:
•Exemplar
rubrics for topics across the breadth of the engineering curriculum
•How
rubrics can shed light on ‘troublesome concepts’ across engineering curricula
•Scholarship
related to rubric construction, or how they are used in practice (for example
in team marking, when shared with students to guide assessments, or when
co-constructed with students)
