Internal funding opportunities can be an excellent springboard to apply for external funding. Both provide a number of benefits to researchers, but external funding may be more challenging. This presentation focuses on some of the strategies that researchers can utilise to help them gain external funding: from learning to ask for money to sometimes being unsuccessful, to reaping the awards of a successful application.
