ALTC The Future is Female
THE FUTURE IS FEMALE: Gender equality in HE – The next 10 years.
The aim of the session is to raise awareness of the Athena Swan charter and how we can improve gender equality at NTU and beyond over the next 10 years. Although there has been some excellent progress in recent years, there are still areas for improvement, for example the lack of women in leadership positions including professors in ADBE. There are also increasing numbers of students who identify as ‘they’, which urges us to consider how inclusive our approaches are to all groups as an institution. We would like to use the workshop to share, inform and discuss themes related to gender equality and strategies that can be implemented to create a cultural change within HE and beyond.
We also want to spotlight some of the relevant policies such as flexible working, paternity leave and inform people of the various support mechanisms available to them.
