Meeting The Invisible Needs - Creating a thriving environemnt for diverse leaners.

Through my time teaching I have become fascinated with why some of our most creative, innovative, and forward-thinking students underperforming / failing? From my own experience I can see first-hand the issues with students, exhibiting ADHD characteristics, fitting into an academic world and what they find challenging. This has propelled my interest in neurodiversity and how this can affect students within the HE environment. I have also noted research into the rise in undiagnosed ADHD amongst females and as a predominantly female cohort this has highlighted some areas where students could be undiagnosed and slipping through the gaps. I am interested in how we can adjust teaching that could suit and support neurodiverse students’ needs, to create a thriving environment for diverse learners and benefit ALL students in a Higher Education setting. Throughout my research I will consider ways we can provide support without singling out or stigmatizing these conditions
