Ramadan Resources
These resources can be used to celebrate and raise awareness of Ramadan and Eid. The resources are PDF files that are designed to be printed out in colour. In the list below, we have provided an accessible description of each file.
Celebrate Ramadan:
1. Ramadan Mubarak Banner - this can be printed and put up like bunting in large communal areas.
The file consists of 20 pages. Pages 1, 9, 10, 11 and 19 each have a decorative image in gold of spiral design. Pages 2 to 8 each contain one decorated letter of the word ‘Ramadan’ and pages 12 to 18 each contain one decorated letter of the word ‘Mubarak’. The letters are brown and the decorative outlines and images of streamers, lanterns, crescents and stars are in green and gold. Page 20 acknowledges the author, Fatima Malik, and her collaborator, XceEdu.com.
2. Ramadan Mubarak Sign - can be used if space is limited.
The file consists of one page with decorative images of gold streamers and gold and green lanterns, crescents and stars in an arc above the words ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ in brown italic script.
Awareness of Ramadan:
3. What is Ramadan Poster - this describes what Ramadan is and can be put up as a poster, or printed smaller as a leaflet. For an accessible version, see file 3b. What is Ramadan Poster - Text-only Version.
4. What is Ramadan QR Code - this can be printed and displayed to allow access to a digital copy of the "What is Ramadan" Poster.
The file consists of one page with decorative images of gold streamers and gold and green lanterns, crescents and stars in an arc above the words: ‘What is Ramadan?’ and "Scan QR code" in brown italic script, followed by a QR code which allows access to the digital "What is Ramadan Poster" and finally there is an acknowledgement for author's collaborator, XceEdu.com.
Optional:
5. Have a Date - this can be used if you wish to put out date fruits for people to help themselves to.
The file consists of one page with decorative images of gold streamers and gold and green lanterns, crescents and stars in an arc above the words: ‘Have a Date!’. This is followed by a short paragraph: "Muslims traditionally open their fast with dates & water. Dates have great nutritional properties, making them an ideal choice for fuelling after a fast." There are also some instructions on how to eat dates ("How to eat: split open and remove stone-like seed before consumption) and some allergen advice ("Allergen Advice: Contains Dates Please be aware dates may have come into contact with common allergens, such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish or wheat.").

6. Ramadan Banner how to set up - shows an example of how these resources were set up in the reception area of Carys Bannister Building (University of Manchester).
This file consists of two pages. Page 1 has the title of "Ramadan Celebration" in decorative writing, followed by a description: "An example of the Ramadan Mubarak Banner - displayed in the reception area of Carys Bannister Building of the University of Manchester") and the bottom of the page has two pictures from two different angles, of a reception area decorated with a Ramadan Mubarak banner hung up like bunting on wooden panel and there are some decorative wooden cut outs in the shape of crescent moons, and lanterns which are hung up at the top with some stars and moon LED decorative lights.
Page 2 has the title "Ramadan Awareness" in decorative writing and XceEdu logo followed by a description: "Poster on what is Ramadan was created in collaboration with XceEdu and can be made available digitally, and physical copies as leaflets to raise awareness and to answer questions/ queries. Optional: Dates provided alongside Ramadan poster with information about what it entails". There are pictures of some date fruits with a sign saying "Have a Date" and photo of the "What is Ramadan Poster" and the What is Ramadan QR Code" displayed on a noticeboard.
Celebrate Eid:
7. Eid Mubarak Banner - this can be printed and put up like bunting in large communal areas.
The file consists of 20 pages. Pages 1, 5, 6, 7 and 15 each have a decorative image in gold of spiral design. Pages 2 to 4 each contain one decorated letter of the word ‘Eid’ and pages 8 to 14 each contain one decorated letter of the word ‘Mubarak’. The letters are brown and the decorative outlines and images of streamers, lanterns, crescents and stars are in green and gold. Page 16 acknowledges the author, Fatima Malik, and her collaborator, XceEdu.com.
8. Eid Mubarak Sign - can be used if space is limited.
The file consists of one page with decorative images of gold streamers and gold and green lanterns, crescents and stars in an arc above the words ‘Eid Mubarak’ in brown italic script.
