Wayfaring at Wells Beach 2018
This time-lapse film is part of my doctoral research into contemporary UK outdoor arts. I use time-lapse videography to document the durational relationships between space, audience and performance.
The subject of the film is of an installation titled 'Wayfaring' (And Now, 2018) and was presented as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2018 and filmed at Wells-next-the-Sea between 21-26 May. The installation was built over a period of a week, animated with a performance on the final weekend and then dismantled.
Using the temporal articulation afforded by time-lapse, the film represents the way the public, engaged with the work over the whole period in terms of flows, accretions and rhythms.
