This infographic sets out 10 tips to help you support anyone struggling with failure or fear of failure and to help to build a ‘fail-safe’ learning environment. This is where students can concentrate on learning without worrying about ‘failing’ – in essence, a safe, comfortable learning environment. Also helps to reduce learner anxiety.

Can be used as a handout, solo resource, or as part of a class for discussion, or as part of teacher education.

It is based on my qualitative study exploring students' (legal apprentices) experiences of academic failure and is applicable in most learning contexts.

The study and the resources are part of the ongoing Feeling Failure project. Please do contact me (lucindabromfield@bpp.com) for more information about the study, the project or the infographic.

Work in progress on the initial study was highly commended in the Stan Marsh Award 2023 and I would like to thank the Association of Law Teachers and BPP University Law School for their support.
