Considering what is taught is a key part of decolonising science teaching. It is not easy to know where to start and how to balance providing context to the knowledge with overloading students with information. Many of us teach with lecture notes passed down from other staff, or based heavily on textbooks and may not have considered the deliberate choices made of example and context used to illustrate key concepts. The KLAWES framework is a work in progress to enable reflection on what is taught across a range of dimensions of relevance to decolonising.
