Using competitive digital crosswords to engage non-specialist students on an Accounting and Finance module

This case study explores the benefits of creating and using interactive digital competitive crossword puzzles to aid student engagement, teamwork, collaboration, social interaction and improved retention of terminology in a Level 4 Accounting & Finance module. The innovation was implemented with great success on a module with 20 tutors and 1400 students. The study includes online links to an interactive crossword creator, and an example crossword resource with online link and answers provided. Additional learnings, suggestions and advice are given to anyone who wants to implement the teaching innovation in their own modules.
