Leading by example: being belonging and becoming digital citizens

This is a keynote presentation for Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology #DigtalEd Conference. This talk considers the concept of being, belonging and becoming and emphasises the importance of communities and dialogue. I reflect back on my 6Cs model (2013) and how social media has empowered individuals to become digital communicators, collaborators, conversationalists, critics, curators and creators; and the value of educators acting as role models. There are a collection of case studies that demonstrate how we can help students become confident and responsible digital citizens.
